About Us

The Nest Team
We are an inspired and dedicated group of acupuncturists who specialize in reproductive medicine. We have advanced training in using Traditional Chinese Medicine for fertility concerns, and have an extensive knowledge of western reproductive medicine.  While we believe strongly in the efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, we are certainly not a dogmatic bunch.  We want to help you succeed in achieving your health goals, and we often work closely and collaboratively with western doctors to do so.

Active in both the reproductive health and acupuncture communities, we are members of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, Open Path and  the California State Oriental Medical Association.  We are nationally and locally licensed, and stay abreast of the latest advances through continued education and research in the field of reproductive health.

Sara Stieg, L.Ac., FABORM
Sara Stieg, M.S., L.Ac., holds a Masters of Science degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  She was first introduced to acupuncture as a student at UC Santa Cruz where she earned a Bachelors degree in psychology. After experiencing great success using Chinese medicine to treat her own health issues, she continued to graduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine so that she could share its benefits with others.  Sara has been fortunate to intern under several prominent Chinese doctors during her career, and has continued increasing her knowledge in the field of gynecology and reproductive medicine. She has a strong belief in the value of integrated medicine and collaborates with doctors to maintain continuity of care.  Sara believes strongly in keeping her patients informed and educated so they can be active participants in achieving optimal health.

Sara is co-founder of Nest- Integrative Health & Fertility.

In addition to her private practice, Sara is also co-founder of the Acupuncture Program at Pacific Fertility Center (PFC).  The acupuncture group at PFC work in conjunction with the physicians to support  fertility treatments and improve success.

Sara is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the California State Oriental Medicine Association.

Sara is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM).  ABORM certification demonstrates competency and advanced knowledge in the field of both Western and Oriental Reproductive Medicine.

She keeps her own balance by spending time with her husband, and her two kids. She loves exploring local hikes and beaches, heading to yoga for a little alone time, and traveling whenever possible.

 Tiffinie McEntire, L.Ac.

Tiffinie McEntire, MS, LAc, has been a passionate advocate of holistic health care for more than twenty years when she first started receiving acupuncture and studying Taoism.  After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Holistic Health at San Francisco State University, Tiffinie pursued a brief career in medical journalism before diving into her true passion, Chinese Medicine.

She received her Masters of Science degree at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, and studied reproductive health under her acupuncture mentors. During her clinical internship at the SF Women’s Community Clinic, she was introduced to the integration of Chinese medicine and western gynecology. This experience led her to become more involved in reproductive health care.

Tiffinie incorporates much hands-on work to her acupuncture practice.  She is a certified massage therapist, trained in a wide range of styles including Swedish, Shiatsu, Tui-Na and Jin Shin Do.  With her extensive background in Chinese philosophy and Buddhism, she also shares the benefits of mindfulness and simple meditation techniques with her patients.

In addition to her private practice, Tiffinie is also co-founder of the Acupuncture Program at Pacific Fertility Center (PFC).  The acupuncture group at PFC work in conjunction with the physicians to support  fertility treatments and improve success.

When she’s not caring for her patients, Tiffinie can be found exploring the California coast, indulging in San Francisco’s culinary delights, and throwing on a pair of heels for a little Salsa dancing.

Alison Boden, MPH,

Nutrition Counselor

Alison received her undergraduate degree from UC Davis, followed by graduate training in nutrition and public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  As a practitioner of integrative nutrition she takes a holistic approach to wellness, recognizing that the foundation for optimal health and healing begins with a health promoting diet. Her emphasis is on using medical nutrition interventions to create a foundation for health promotion and healing.

A lover of good food, Alison believes that a healthful diet should be thoughtful, enjoyable and satisfying.  A meal isn't just an accumulation of calories, but an opportunity to supply our organs with the nutrients and building blocks needed for health. When the body is out of balance, as in the case of infertility, proper food choices can correct deficiencies and bring balance back to the system. What you eliminate from your diet is often as important as what you include. Consultations with Alison will help you address the key components of your diet that may be affecting your fertility and wellbeing, as well as help prepare your body for pregnancy.

Alison has experience assessing and counseling clients related to pregnancy and fertility, weight management, lipid control, food allergies, vegetarian/ veganism, paleolithic diets, digestive health, sports nutrition, and chronic diseases such as cardiovascular, kidney disease and cancer. She views each person as a unique individual, and is dedicated to educating patients on natural ways to achieve optimal health while allowing them to take an active role in their health care decisions.

Alison is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Women’s Health and Integrative and Functional Medicine practice groups.

    Testimonials

"After enduring months of frustration trying to get pregnant, I decided I was done with the traditional testing and fertility drugs and sought out an alternative approach. I started researching and found encouraging success stories from women who pursued acupuncture. I was so fortunate to find Nest and specifically Sara Stieg. She was compassionate and thorough and was able to quickly diagnose my deficiencies and formulated a treatment plan. After my first visit, I was pleased to find my stress and anxiety levels decrease and my migraines disappeared altogether. I saw a shift with my cycles within the first month. I found Sara's bedside manner to always be soothing and encouraging. Now I have a beautiful baby boy and I don't think I would have been able to conceive without Sara's treatments. I feel so fortunate that I was able to get pregnant without fertility drugs and I would highly recommend anyone seeking a more natural and holistic approach to work with Sara."

balance along with support for fertility issues.  After 3.5 years of
trying to conceive and IVF I have a healthy baby boy.  Sara
and Tiffinie are wonderful acupuncturists,  I highly recommend
Nest as a safe place of healing, growth and harmony.

"Six days overdue and baby boy did not want to come out... Tiffinie came over, used nine needles, had me walk around the room a little, gave me words of comfort and encouragement, and BAM! Thirty minutes after she left I was in labor. One minute contractions, four to five minutes apart. Baby boy was born the following afternoon. My conclusion? Tiffinie saved my sanity."
